Ramadan Umrah 2027: Dates, Prices and How to Plan
Ramadan 2027 is expected to begin around February 8. Here is when to book, what it costs, and how to make the most of Umrah in the blessed month.
Ramadan 1448 is expected to begin around Monday, February 8, 2027, with Eid al-Fitr around March 9 or 10. The exact dates depend on the sighting of the moon, so any Ramadan package should allow a day of flexibility either way.
The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said that Umrah in Ramadan is equal in reward to Hajj. It is no surprise that it is the busiest season of the year in Makkah and Madinah.
First twenty days or last ten nights?
The first twenty days are calmer and more affordable. You still fast in the Haram, pray Taraweeh behind the imams and break your fast with dates and Zamzam in the mosque. It is a very good choice for families and older parents.
The last ten nights are the most sought after because of Laylatul Qadr. The crowds are enormous, especially on the odd nights, and hotel prices can be three to four times higher than earlier in the month. If you choose the last ten nights, choose a hotel as close to the Haram as your budget allows.
When to book
- By October or November: best choice of hotels and flights.
- By December: still possible, prices are rising.
- January: limited availability, especially near the Haram.

For 2027, expect roughly $2,400 to $4,500 per person for the first twenty days depending on the hotel level, and $4,500 to $9,000 or more for the last ten nights. These are per person prices with four sharing a room and a return flight included.
Making the most of the month
- Arrive at the mosque early for iftar. The courtyards fill quickly in the last hour.
- Rest during the day. Suhoor, Fajr and Taraweeh make for short nights.
- Perform Umrah late at night after Taraweeh, when the Mataf is less crowded.
- Bring a small mat and keep a water bottle for Zamzam.
- In Madinah, book Rawdah visits through the Nusuk app as soon as slots open.
A note for families
Young children and elderly parents find the last ten nights very demanding. Many families choose the middle of the month, or split the trip with Madinah first and Makkah for the final days.
